The world of wood is returning to its origins and from all over the world we are receiving more and more requests for specific machines dedicated to brushing and pre-finishing wooden beams charred or burned with the ancient Japanese art known as Yakisugi-Ita or Shou Sugi Ban.
The charred wood must be cleaned of the "crust" before sealing or coating with prefinisher primers and nanotech paints. So after the action of our brushing machine the dust become a black and heavy powder. For this reason our specific brushing machine dedicated to this purpose needs a powerful industrial dust collector system connected to it. Being the profiles in larch wood, or accoya or more often in New Zealand and Japan they use carbonized cedar timber, processed with controlled flame on 4 sides, our machine foresees brushes on 3 sides of the profile dragged by the traction belt, so that in two steps it is possible to completely clean the 4 sides of the wooden profile.
Some of our customers also use to carbonise wooden beams: that's why the MAXI version of our already best-selling “Rustica 3Sides” (https://www.woodfloormachinery.com/en/charred-timber-brushing-machine) is born to be able to brush and clean even thicker profiles after carbonization. Of course the same machine works perfectly on fences and cladding profiles or decking solid wood boards for exterior flooring and vertical wooden walls.
